Description

Super matte, self-levelling and so easy to brush out, SoFlat Matte Acrylic presents an exciting colour experience within the Golden range. Using genuine artist pigments and full-strength binders, SoFlat creates immersive fields of colour without the distraction of texture and glare.

The paint has a flowing consistency, offering exceptional coverage and a leveling capability as it dries. This unique combination of qualities can only be found in SoFlat Matte Acrylic Colours.

Due to the amount of pigment and matting agents, give SoFlat a stir or shake before use. Unlike other acrylics, shaking won’t cause excessive bubbles to form. This paint brushes out beautifully – smooth and even, and as it becomes matte as it dries, the brush marks also self-level.

SoFlat will adhere on all the same surfaces as other Golden ranges – paper, canvas, wooden panels, plexiglass. They have a much better flow than gouache over paper, though paper surfaces are best given a single coat of Golden Gesso for many acrylic techniques, as this reduces absorbency and drag.

SoFlat is produced using the same professional standards as all GOLDEN Acrylics, and can be combined with other Golden acrylic paints and mediums to increase the range of creative effects that you can achieve. To extend SoFlat and increase transparency while retaining the matte sheen, add up to 25% Golden Pouring Medium Matte; more than 25% will slightly increase the gloss as well as the transparency.
Golden Fluid Matte Medium can be used to extend SoFlat and reduce opacity.

ABOUT GOLDEN
Golden Acrylic Colours are made by the Golden family and employees in upstate New York. Sam Golden started making paint in New York City in the 1930's, and released the first commercially available acrylic, Magna, in 1947. Throughout the Fifties and Sixties he continued to develop his colours and mediums in close partnership with leading art practitioners. In the mid-Seventies, he attempted to retire to up-state New York, but too many artists protested that they were reliant on his products, so he started Golden Paints with his son Mark in the early Eighties.

Golden pays special attention to the latest technological advances in pigment and binders, and continue to work closely with artists to develop new materials. They were the first to develop a water-tension-breaker, the first to use Quinacridone pigments, the first to develop Zinc White for acrylic, the first to use Interference colours, and their latest ground-breaking products include OPEN Acrylics and SoFlat Matte Acrylics.
