Description

Sick of using Solvents? Mix one part Schmincke Medium W with two parts oilcolour and you can THIN YOUR OILCOLOUR WITH WATER!!!

It's true: Medium W makes your traditional oilcolours water-miscible with no need to use solvents to thin, and brushes wash out in soap and water. Meduim W is quick drying (2-4 days) and is so easy. Medium W keeps your oilcolours vibrant unlike solvent; its's perfect for underpainting with a lot of water added, and great for layering with just a little or even no water added.

Increases gloss and transparency; harmonises and speeds drying process; odourless.

Schmincke Medium W can replace turpentine or turpentine substitute in your painting practice.

Shake before use.

Mix 2 parts of oil colour and 1 part of Medium W on a palette, than add water; if necessary add more medium W.

Brushes and other painting tools can be cleaned with water.

There is no change of the product quality based on the color change of the raw material alkyd resin.

ABOUT SCHMINCKE
Schmincke began at the end of the 19th Century, when the colour chemists Josef Horadam and Hermann Schmincke saw an opportunity to provide the artists of the day with a truly superior artists oil, and so set out to Italy where traditional studio painting was still taught, in search of the nearly forgotten resin oil formulations.
In 1881, at the Academy of Fine Art in Florence, they secured the precision formulations of the Professor Cesare Mussini, a guardian of the old masters techniques, and on these formulations, the two founded their manufacturing establishment under the name H.Schmincke and Co.

In subsequent years, artists’ colours to suit all techniques were introduced, such as Josef Horadam’s patent watercolours of 1892. Through the entire 20th century, every generation of owner has lead the company to its current position as one of the worlds leading manufacturers of finest artists’ colour.
