Pebeo Origin Acrylics

The new Origin Acrylics from Pebeo are truly modern paints, with strong artists colours, all at a single low price, and made with 100% recycled polymer as a binder.

Pebeo Origin are high viscosity acrylics, smooth to spread yet retaining dynamic brush marks and structure. Half the range are “mono-pigment” colours, ensuring bright, clean mixtures. There are plenty of brilliant modern pigments, such as vanadium and pyrrole used in Lemon Cadmium Yellow Hue and Vermillion, alongside softer tones, like Ultramarine Violet. Modern mixtures compliment these mono-pigment colours, offering fashionable pastels like Pink Beige, and complex combinations like Light Olive Green.

There are 48 colours available in 60ml tubes, including metallic and fluorescent hues, with a short selection of 240ml pots, and 480ml for white and black.

It's surprising that so many precious pigments are used in a range of colours that is set at a single modest price; doubly so when the pigment strength is so good. Titanium White is always a good indicator, and in Pebeo Origin it has a strong opacity and tints other colours quickly. Pebeo Origin is odorless and dries to a semi-matte sheen.

Pebeo Origin is Made in France using 96% European materials, ensuring quality and stringent manufacturing regulations. The acrylic resin is made from 100% recycled material, resulting in 80% less emissions. This binder has been already tested and is the same used in the Pebeo “Green” Gesso, Transparent Fluid Medium, and Modelling Paste. The tube is made from 44% paper, and features an actual swatch of the colour, pigment information, lightfastness (3 star system), and the square symbol for whether the colour is transparent, semi-opaque or opaque.
